Sunithi Kuruppu

Senior Consultant

Sunithi Kuruppu has more than 15 years of experience in the Behavioral Healthcare and Healthcare Information Technology industries. She has a proven track record as a clinician, business development director, client success and account management leader and consultant. Based on her clinical background and healthcare IT experience, Sunithi is uniquely positioned to help her clients strategize effectively on their digital transformation strategy to achieve their goal of integrated, whole-person care. She has focused throughout her career on serving public sector clients at the local, state and federal levels. She has prior experience working with diverse stakeholders throughout Ohio including its largest health systems; OACBHA; OhioMHAS; and others.

As Senior Manager at Bamboo Health (formerly Appriss Health), Sunithi led client management, implementation and account management for OpenBeds’ behavioral health and crisis technology solutions across the country supporting OpenBeds’ rapid expansion and growth. She actively participated and provided consultation in crisis care continuum strategic planning to stakeholder committees across several states including Ohio in preparation for the July 2022 988 implementation nationwide.

Previously, while at Netsmart where she achieved the exclusive distinction of qualifying for both Netsmart Masters’ and the 100% Club for her sales and account management achievements. She managed and led digital adoption strategies and technology initiatives for diverse public sector state clients across the country who were at various stages of implementing integrated care including FQHCs and CCBHCs. Her work with state clients focused on leveraging scalable, interoperable, EHR-agnostic SaaS solutions and services to improve their care coordination capabilities; data analytics; and regulatory compliance (i.e. 42 CFR Part II).

As National and Strategic Account Director for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Sunithi built and led strategic partnerships, while also growing the Foundation’s referral base and supporting their mission of expanding access to quality substance use treatment. In this role, she worked strategically with key payer partners to develop Centers of Excellence focused on achieving integrated care through models such as IDDT.

Ten years prior, Sunithi served in various clinical roles with Business Health Services, Inova Health System, BlueCare-HCL (United Kingdom) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where she won the DHHS Agency Director’s Award of Client Service Excellence for her creative, out of the box approach with federal clients. She has delivered a diverse range of clinical services including consultation; care coordination and navigation; crisis response and critical incident management services for diverse clients.
